Nam-Jong Paik, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine and the 20th President & CEO of Seoul National University Hospital. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Seoul National University, completed residency and fellowship training in rehabilitation medicine and neurorehabilitation at Seoul National University Hospital, and was a visiting fellow at the Human Cortical Physiology Section, NIH/NINDS (USA). Professor Paik is an internationally recognized leader in neurorehabilitation. He is President of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR), a member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea, and has previously served as the first President of the Asia-Oceanian Society for NeuroRehabilitation (AOSNR) and Chair of the Korean Society for NeuroRehabilitation. His research focuses on brain plasticity and functional recovery after stroke, with particular interests in neuromodulation, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and brain-computer interface (BCI), as well as robotics, virtual reality, digital health, and telemedicine to advance neurorehabilitation.
