Jianan LiProf China

Professor Jianan Li is an International Member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine. He is the Founding Dean and Honorary Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine at Nanjing Medical University and Honorary Director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center at Jiangsu Province Hospital. He served as President of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM, 2014–2016) and is the Immediate Past President of the Asia-Oceanian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (AOSPRM). He chaired the Chinese Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CSPMR). His research focuses on cardiovascular rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and functional assessment. He has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, together with national, provincial, and international collaborative research projects. Professor Li received the Herman J. Flax Lifetime Achievement Award from ISPRM in 2023 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine (CARM) for 2022. His other honors include the Chinese Medical Doctor Award and national recognition for excellence in teaching.
